BikeSafe is a police run motorcycle initiative that is aimed at working with motorcycle riders to provide post-test training.
BikeSafe is a national police run motorcycle initiative, it is aimed at working with motorcycle riders in a relaxed environment to raise awareness of the importance and value of progressing on to accredited post-test training. Each workshop consists of a classroom session and then followed by an observed ride with advanced police motorcyclists.
Here at Derbyshire Constabulary, our police motorcyclists share a passion for riding and a desire to make sure that all bikers stay safe in our beautiful county of Derbyshire. All our police riders undergo advanced training and regular assessments to be part of the constabulary’s motorcycle team, an important part of their work is to share their knowledge about safe riding behaviour with other motorcyclists.
If you wish to improve your skills and safety on two wheels then you can attend one of our one-day BikeSafe workshops here in Ripley, Derbyshire. The topics that are covered include advanced positioning skills, bike control, hazard awareness, observation, cornering, braking, and overtaking plus nine BikeSafe eLearning modules which offer a good foundation of advanced riding skills and knowledge.
Once the classroom is out of the way you will go for an observed ride in Derbyshire and be given tips on how to improve once the ride is completed.
